🌕♓ Pisces Full Moon Cord Cutting Ritual ♓🌕

🌌 Tools Needed: Candle (preferably black or white), Thread (3 pieces, 9 inches each), Cleansing Tool (Incense, Singing Bowl, Solfeggio Frequencies, etc), Healing Crystals (optional! Amethyst, Selenite, Smoky Quartz, etc)

🌊 Cleanse. Thoroughly and mindfully cleanse yourself before beginning this ritual. This can be as simple or elaborate as you’d like, as long as it’s sincere and meaningful. Whether it’s simply washing your hands, or soaking in a decadent bath and with crystals and herbs, then anointing yourself with oils, come into this ritual with a clear mind and a clean body.

🌕 Visualize. This ritual is best when in sight of the moon, but if that’s not possible, having a representation of the moon, such as a moonstone crystal, a drawing, painting, picture, or simply a white candle, will work as well. Sitting in front of the moon, take some time now to speak openly and honestly, expressing your thanks for the moon, and offering your time, attention, and respect to her. If you would like to make any physical offerings to the moon, now would be the time to do so as well.

🌟 Call In any deities, angels, beings, that you work with, and/or your higher self to protect and guide you during this ritual. Ask for their help in healing, letting go, and moving forward from the energetic cords and ties that do not serve you, that drain you, that hold you back.

💫 Reflect. Take the time to look at all you’ve accomplished since the start of this year, all the growth and healing that’s been done, any cycles that have begun or ended. Recognize the strength and endurance it’s taken to get this far, and express gratitude to yourself. Identify what it is you intend to let go of and release now, during this ritual.

🕯️ Burn a candle, preferably black or white, with cleansing, healing energy, inscribed or anointed as necessary. This candle represents you at the soul level, free of doubt, worry, ego, and attachment. Light the candle with the intention of releasing all attachment to, as well as cleansing and healing you, of all that pass through its flame.

🧵 Cord. Take three pieces of string, nine inches each, and braid them together. As you braid, speak aloud and pour out the energy of everything you want to release, the cords you want to cut. Be it people, behaviors, thought patterns, speak them aloud and pour their energy into the chords as you braid them. It’s normal for emotions to arise at this point; allow yourself to express them freely as you braid, don’t stifle or repress them.

✂️ Cut. After you’ve braided the cord, and spoken aloud everything you want to release, hold the cord over the candle and speak aloud your intentions for cutting the cord. This intention will be most powerful using your own words, and coming from the heart.

🔥 Finalize. Allow the candle to continue burning even after the cord has completely burned. Notice how free and open you feel, any change in yourself either physically or emotionally. Meditate or journal now on the difference in sensation. When the candle has completely finished burning, pour the wax and ashes into a bowl of water, to further cleanse and heal, then discard outside of your home.

♒🌕 AQUARIUS FULL MOON RITUAL 🌕♒

🌌 Tools Needed: Paper, writing tool, room to perform the ritual. Optional: Incense (recommended scents to correspond with Aquarius are: Lavender, Mint, Lemongrass, or Patchouli), Crystals (recommended crystals to correspond with Aquarius are: Amethyst, Angelite, Clear Quartz, Opal), White or Black Candle.

🏺 Cleanse. Start by physically cleaning any mess or clutter in the space you plan to do your ritual. Once the space is physically clean, energetically cleanse as well. Light incense, or burn essential oils (be mindful of what oils you use if you have pets) Visualize any stagnant energy flowing out through doors or windows, leaving the space clean, clear, and purified.

🙌 Move. Get up, stretch, roll your neck and shoulders, stretch your arms as high up as you can, then down to the floor as far as you can. Do some yoga if that’s your thing. Shake, dance, jump around, just move! As you move, breathe deeply and intentionally, in whatever way feels best for you. Notice where your body holds tension and breathe into that space. Visualize the tension flowing out of and away from your body as water or iridescent bubbles. Once your body feels clear of all tension, sit and lay your crystals, if you have any, in front of you. Close your eyes and take four deep, intentional breaths, then open your eyes and begin.

🌬️ Release. Bring to mind what you’d like to let go of, what holds you back, what keeps you stagnant, what no longer has a place in your life. Write it all down, as well as your worries, fears, doubts, and limiting beliefs. After you’ve written them all out, write at the bottom of the paper: “As this moon cycle comes to an end, so do the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors listed above. I release their hold over me. I release them from my life. As the new moon cycle begins, so does a new phase in my life, one free of everything contained on this paper.”

🕯️ Optional. If you have somewhere safe to burn, light a white or black candle and burn the paper in it’s flame. As you do so visualize everything you wrote on the page going up in flame, leaving your life in the form of smoke and ash. Dispose of the ashes outside of your home (either washing them down the drain, or throwing them away in a garbage outside of your home, ensuring the energy does not linger).

🌠 Create. Bring to mind your ideal self, who you would be if you could be anyone. Then write that person out on paper, focusing less on physical appearance and more on physical actions, physical feelings, as well as the mental, emotional, and spiritual state you would be in. What traits would you embody? What traits would you leave behind? What would you think about? How would you feel? How would you spend your days? What work would you do? What would you do for fun? Write all this (and anything else that comes to mind) down on paper.

♾️ Bind. Once you’ve written down your ideal self, write at the bottom of the paper: “As this moon cycle comes to an end, so does my old way of being. I let go of attachment to my current self. I open myself to new and better ways of being. As the new moon cycle begins, so does a new way of being, one of constant growth and positive change.” If you feel called to, ask the moon for help in making the necessary changes to bring your ideal self into being.

🌟 Act. Create a plan to incorporate your ideal self into your current reality. Take at least one concrete step per week towards embodying your ideal self. (If you need help coming up with steps towards your ideal self, feel free to message me! It can be hard to conceptualize at first.) Journal about these steps if you can! At the end of the next moon cycle (September 14), look back on the changes you’ve made, to see how far you’ve come. Continue taking steps as time goes on!

Full Moon in Aquarius

If I should describe this full moon with just one world, it would be Change. Get ready for some unexpected events happening in your life, because August’s full moon will be squaring Uranus - the most unpredictable planet.

You cannot predict what will happen but you can prepare. Remind yourself to stay flexible and be able to quickly adapt to anything that comes up. Don’t get too discouraged if your plans don’t seem to work out, the best thing you can do right now is to go with the flow.

You might want to take risks and be rebellious, but try not to get swayed into acting irrationally. Now may not the best time to take risks. Wait a few days and think before you act.

Another aspect of happening during the full moon is Mercury opposite Saturn, which will be exact on this day as well. This may cause misunderstandings and issues with communications. We should try to make our messages as clear as possible, so there is no space for anyone to misunderstand them. Also, watch out for being too harsh on others and thinking in a overly negative way.

Get ready to possibly experience mood swings, become easily distracted and feel an erratic energy surrounding you. This full moon could be very emotionally draining to some, but try staying open-minded, flexible and most importantly, stay patient.

⦁ Growing basil in your kitchen keeps the area safe and free from negative spirits.
⦁ During the full moon is the best time to prepare potions/recipes to aid in psychic ability.
⦁ Recipes for love should be prepared when the moon is waxing.
⦁ The best time to plant herbs and vegetables is when the moon is in Cancer, Libra, Pisces or Scorpio.
⦁ Keep a Moon calendar in your kitchen so you can keep track of the moon phases and which sign it’s currently in.
⦁ After making candles, incense or perfumes, store them for several months before using. This will make them more fragrant.
⦁ Always stir in a clockwise direction to invoke and counterclockwise to banish.
⦁ When baking pies inscribe symbols and sigils on the bottom of the crust, then add your filling. This will infuse your food with magic and intent.
⦁ Keep an Aloe Vera plant in your kitchen. It will bring good luck and is also very good for burns.
⦁ Add a pinch of cinnamon to your morning coffee to attract money and love.
⦁ Use cooking oils to draw sigils onto your pans before you start cooking.

⦁ Bury an egg near the front door to your home. This will promote fertility in your garden and ensure abundance for the coming year.
⦁ Make sure you save your orange peels. Dry them for about a week and then store them in an air tight container. They are great in recipes and spells for health and prosperity.
⦁ If you need to concentrate and focus your thoughts, drink a cup of ginger root tea. This is also good for grounding and balance.
⦁ Keep a piece of Quartz near to where you cook. This will make the food taste better.
⦁ Store candles in the freezer. This will help them to burn better and longer.
⦁ If a family member is sick make some rosemary water and sprinkle it around the room they are in to promote healing.
⦁ Simmer lavender in oil to make a dream salve. This will help promote sleep and give relief to people who suffer from nightmares.
⦁ Before doing a spell for prosperity drink a cup of peppermint tea to increase your money drawing ability.
⦁ Lemon can be used for cleansing, protection and spiritual purification.
⦁ Black tea gives you courage. Sip a cup in the morning if you need an extra push.
⦁ Placing a clove of garlic in the four corners of a room is said to banish evil spirits and negative energy.
⦁ Eating parsley promotes lust and fertility. (If you are pregnant, avoid parsley! It could potentially cause a miscarriage!) You can also toss it in the bath as a cleansing soak, or combine with some cinnamon for prosperity.

Write your Witchcraft

The thing is, we change. We are not the same person we were five years ago. Hel, a lot of us are not even the same people we were last week. We change, and our beliefs, favourites, thoughts and the way we see ourselves changes with it.

The same is true for our witchraft, religion and spiritual beliefs. This is why I have a list of question that I like to answer for myself every couple of years. I first started this when I came across a list of questions by Juniper from Walking the Hedge (site no longer in use) in 2008, yes, over ten years ago. Every few years I filled in the questions and looked back at the answers I gave before. Some never changed, some changed quite a lot.

When our coven started a new lesson plan, I gave out the list of questions as well. We sealed our answers in envelopes and plan to fill them in again, once we finish our lessons. Then open the envelopes and look at the answers side by side. To see how we have changed.

I looked at the list last week and found it actually lacking a bit. The questions were very deity- and spiritual based, so I was missing some more questions about my personality and witchcraft. So I decided to make my own list of questions!

Since I wanted to make this more a weekly journaling/grimoire prompt for myself I put together 52 questions. These can be answered weekly (maybe every year) or you can work through the list in one go and repeat that every few years or so.

Some notes on the wording: I consider myself both a witch and a pagan, but to keep it easier to read I only used wording like “witch” and “witchcraft”, they can however be substituted for “pagan”, “paganism” or even “my path”, should that fit you better. When I talk about “sacred space” this can both mean a ritual space like a temple or casting of a circle, but also just your home or outdoors witchy environment.

July is the month when the new antlers of deer and moose push out from their foreheads in coatings of velvety fur, thus the name Buck Moon. The steaming days and nights around July, often also referred as to the Thunder Moon signifies the time of year where the most frequent storms are cast around us. This energy is bold and brazen, intensifying our emotions and attuning us to our inner spark. It’s creative, often including flashes of new ideas.

This is a very masculine moon, so it’s a good time to work on the physical things in your life. Either physical in body, or things that need some physical attention, like fixing that loose handle on the kitchen drawer. It’s the sign of building and repairing one’s life, home and spirit.
